At the meeting of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences on June 13, 2023, awards were presented for their contribution to the promotion of scientific knowledge and the best works on the popularization of science. Diplomas of the 1st degree on awarding the prize of the Russian Academy of Sciences for the best works on the popularization of science in 2021 and 2022 were awarded in a solemn ceremony in the nomination "The best author's course aimed at popularizing science at school" to the team of authors of the Moscow State University under the leadership of G.N. Goltsman: Ph.D.M.N. G.M. Chulkova, Ph.D.M.n. A.B.Kazantseva, researcher P.P.Anu, graduate student M.D.Soldatenkova and head of the Center for Social Initiatives K.O.Teplyakova for the course "Physical living room".
The winners in various nominations were congratulated by the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician Gennady Krasnikov.
"Our team has been engaged in educational activities for many years. It is wonderful that it is possible to combine a scientific approach, pedagogical capabilities and social significance. It is no coincidence that the authors of the course work in the scientific Laboratory of quantum detectors, at the department, and at the Center for Social Initiatives. Our goal is to show students that it is interesting and important to get an education, that modern technologies that surround us can be understandable, and we will not use them blindly. The course was born for a long time, was formed from various experimental tasks, was tested on thousands of schoolchildren, guests of science festivals, participants of volunteer field events. This course was the beginning of a big new project "New Physics", supported by the Ministry of Education of Russia, and received state support," Ksenia Teplyakova said.
This is the third participation of MSU physicists in the competition. In 2019, the creative group of the university was awarded a diploma of the 3rd degree for a series of face-to–face lectures, and the next year, 2020, it already received a diploma of the 2nd degree for the video course "Physics without formulas" (Stepik platform).
And now MPSU for the first time received a diploma of the RAS of the 1st degree.
